What’s up with the flamingo?
Bold, balanced design. That’s the motto behind our flamingo mascot, but where did the flamingo come from in the first place?
I have always loved flamingos. I think when I was younger it was probably mostly because they were pink, but as I got older I learned to love the symbolism they represent. They are strong, bold creatures that demand attention. Their bright pink colors can’t be missed! They are masters of balance. They stand tall on one leg and never falter. They are a symbol of confidence, femininity, style, grace, and a little sass too!
When Sarah Lorraine Interiors was started I knew I had to include the flamingo imagery into my business somehow. Making bold statements with design is one of my favorite things to do. I never want to stick to the norm just because it is trendy or “in style” at the moment. I want to make sure the designs I’m creating reflect the lifestyle and dreams of my clients. Sometimes that requires making bold choices that other designers may shy away from, but I am always glad I did what I knew was right at the end of the project.
Balance is another hallmark of design that I strive for in each and every project. Not only visual balance in a room, but balance with the budget, with the relationship you make with clients, tradespeople, and vendors as well. If things are off balance, nothing looks or feels right.
The flamingo is the perfect symbol to embody all the things I want Sarah Lorraine Interiors to be known for.
